Paris Journal

A two-night stay can feel generous when every movement has a purpose and the schedule leaves room for Paris to happen.

Friday: arrive without rushing

Use the first evening to settle into the city rather than compete with it. A pre-arranged airport welcome, time to refresh and a restaurant within a comfortable radius creates a better beginning than an ambitious cross-city dash.

After dinner, choose one final note: a walk along the Seine, a quiet cocktail bar or simply the view from your room.

Saturday: one great cultural anchor

Build the day around a single important visit—the Louvre with a specialist, a focused Musée d’Orsay route or a private architecture walk. Depth is more memorable than collecting entrances.

Lunch should be close to the morning programme. Leave a real interval in the afternoon for the hotel, independent shopping or an unscripted café stop before the evening.

Sunday: Paris at neighbourhood scale

Spend the morning where Paris feels local: market streets, gardens, galleries and a long lunch. If your flight is late, a chauffeur can hold luggage and finish at the airport without returning across the city.

The final hours should feel like part of the holiday, not a waiting room for departure.
